Recap from the NIHR Fellowship Afternoon Session
RDS-Welcome-(2).jpgResearch Design Service (RDS) London and NIHR Trainees Coordinating Centre recently held a NIHR Fellowship session at St Giles London Conference Centre.

Over 70 potential Fellowship applicants attended the information session, keen to hear about how to best apply for one of the NIHR training awards and speak to advisors about their application.

Dr Katherine Woolf who attended the Fellowship event last year and was successful in gaining the NIHR Career Development Fellow was invited back this year as a guest speaker. Her insight into the application process was invaluable and hopefully reassured some of the applicants in our audience!

After the main presentation, the three panel discussions on NIHR application process; study design; training and development were configured with the support of NIHR Fellowship panel members and the Trainees Coordinating Centre programme team. Feedback from these panel discussions was positive—their open nature allowed attendees to hear and benefit from discussions on a wide range of issues.

Some of the feedback we received on the day:

“Detailed knowledge from experts”
“It was nice to meet others in a similar position and hear different perspectives”
“I feel much better informed”
