The Research Design Service (RDS) West Midlands is hosting a free event covering the NIHR Public Health Research Programme. The event is open to delegates nationally.

This session is open to anyone who has a good public health research idea, or is developing a high-quality public health-related research project and looking to apply to the NIHR Public Health Research Programme. You could be a public health professional, practitioner, researcher and academic based at a university, local authority or from another relevant organisation.

Topics the event will cover

  • The NIHR PHR Programme
  • Overview of the funding streams (commissioned calls, researcher-led)
  • What makes a good PHR application
  • What do the PHR Prioritisation Committee and Funding Committee (Stages 1 & 2) want to see in an application
  • NIHR RDS and PHRADA support for PHR applications
  • Writing tips, interpreting and responding to common committee feedback
  • Public involvement for Public Health Research
  • Applicant perspectives from applying to the programme.

Optional one-to-one meetings with RDS advisers will be available following the meeting for attendees to discuss research ideas.
